Italy is a republic and it's divided into 20 Regioni (regions): Abruzzi, Basilicata,  Calabria, Campania, Emilia-Romagna, Friuli Venezia-Giulia, Lazio, Liguria, Lombardia, Marche, Molise, Piemonte, Puglia, Sardegna, Sicilia, Toscana, Trentino Alto-Adige, Umbria, Valle d'Aosta, Veneto.
Each Regione is sub-divided into a number of Province (provinces). Each Provincia is structured into municipalities.
Campania's provinces are: Napoli (the largest city), Caserta, Salerno, Avellino, Benevento.

The President of Italy was Carlo Azeglio Ciampi (from May 1999 to May 2006). The Prime Minister was Silvio Berlusconi (from June 2001 to May 2006).
When was Italy established as a country?
The Kingdom of Italy was proclaimed on 17 March 1861. The Italian Republic was established in June 1946.
What is the currency in Italy?
Since January 2002 Italy adopted the Euro as its national currency. The Euro replaced the Lira, the previous Italian currency.
